Centurion Ski Boats

The philosophy behind Centurion Boats is that it takes an extreme water sport enthusiast to intimately understand the passion of the core consumer. Rick Lee was well known in the Water Sport community. He held the K-Jet Class World Record, and understood the unique passion that extreme sport athletes crave. In 1976, the very first boat order was made for his new company; Centurion.

Centurion Boats has been a leader in the ski boat industry for innovation and design concepts. They were the first to introduce the “S” Spray Rails, which have become a standard in some form of design for almost all tournament level ski boats. The current Centurion ski boat Fleet is made up of 15 different models. All models come with the V-Drive engine, except three. The Enzo SD220, the Falcon, and the T5 all come with the D-Drive. The engine of choice for Centurion is the MerCruiser. The standard engine, as well as the engine upgrades options, typically ranges between 300HP – 340HP. The engine upgrade options for the Enzo V-Drive models offer a little more power, for speed thrill seekers. Their upgrades top out at around 420HP.

When trying to figure out what makes a Centurion Ski Boat different from others offered, Centurion points to their innovative technology. There are three main areas that they emphasize. The Hull, Performance, and Comfort. Without a doubt their pride is the Cascading Hull. This hull is designed to be licensed for both Ski and Wakeboarding competitions. Their Infini-V hull is specialized more for wakeboarding.

Where the design of the hull differs from other major brands is what they refer to as the “reverse shoe-box” technology. They fit the deck inside the hull and use an Integrated Composite System to bond the two together. This material is made of ITW Plexus. They also spray closed cell foam into the inside of the decking for added strength. Centurion believes that these combined changes in basic structure design make their boats one of the most leak resistant boats on the market.

In regards to performance there are four main areas that ski Centurion boats has focused on. The Ventilated Tracking Fin is used to reduce the noise and vibration caused while towing an individual. The thought is that it makes the ride smoother while towing. The Switch Blade is an add option that is placed at the rear of the boat to enhance the waves. The basic concept behind the Switch Blade is that it creates huge wakes without having to add ballast or weight.

The Sideswipe Exhaust System is what drawls a lot of wake boarders to Centurion. This system moves the exhaust system from the rear of the boat to the side of the boat, which results in longer lasting waves. The last performance focus is that of wave placement. The Right Surf allows the prop to rotate in the opposite direct. This will result in wake curls that are opposite than the standard option. This is a huge benefit for individuals that are considered to ride “goofy-footed”.

There are two areas that a ski Centurion boat focuses on for comfort. One is the C4 Seating, which is due to their unique structure of the hull, and the other is snap out carpet. This is such a practical concept. It enables one to clean the boat much easier, thus adding to the longevity of the interior of the boat.
