MasterCraft has partnered with Indmar Marine Engines in efforts to offer quality, and high performance ski boats. There are four basic engine options for selection. The RTP-1 (310 HP), the MCX (350 HP), the LY6 (400 HP) and the L – 18 (450 HP). A select few of the ’09 Models are even offered with twin engines. These can immediately double the horsepower in an instant.
One aspect that makes a MasterCraft boat user friendly is the VDIG (Visual Digital Interface Gauge). This display is set up with a menu select system and is very easy to navigate. MasterCraft refers to this as the boats “brain center”. The VDIG keeps track of the boat’s performance and offers alerts when routine attention is required, and even sports a shallow water alarm.
When looking at the overall product, many items that are regarded as “options” with other companies are considered “standard” for MasterCraft. They really focus on offering the best quality boat on the market, but as a result the initial starting price can top out higher than other competitive brands. Without a doubt, these are high-end luxury ski boats.
The current MasterCraft Fleet is the largest on the Market by far. The X Series is made up of 12 different models. They are the X-1, X-2, X-7, X-14, X-14V, X-15, X-30, X-35, X-45, X-55, X-80, and lastly the Mastercraft X-STAR. They range from nineteen to twenty-eight feet in length, with seating options from 7 to 18 individuals (depending on model). This series is very classic in design and style.
With only four model variations, the Prostar Series is one of their main competition ski boats. It is marketed for its wakes that define “slalom, jump, and trick” competitions. The four models are the PS 190, the PS 197, MasterCraft Prostar 214, and the PS 214V. They range from nineteen to twenty-one feet, with seating options of 7-11 individuals. Much like that of the X Series the graphics are very classic in appearance. The Mastercraft Prostar 190 is probably the most popular model in this series of their ski boats!
The X Series and the Prostar Series are designed for intense levels of competition; where as the Maristar Series is marketed more for the general overall quality boating experience. There are seven model variations in the Maristar Series. They are the MS 200, MS 215, MS 230, MS 235, MS 245, MS 255, and the MS 280. They range from twenty to twenty-eight feet in length, with seating options of 11 – 18 individuals. These are intended for good quality family boats.
If extreme adventure is what is desired the CSX Series was designed for you. There are four models in the CSX Series. They are the CSX 220, the CSX 220 SS, the CSX 265, and the CSX 265 SS. They are offered in either twenty-one feet or twenty-six feet, and all seat up to 12 individuals. This series is marketed as yachts that are family friendly, yet offer the power to handle any water that is desired to venture. This series will have no difficulty handling either freshwater or saltwater adventures.
The last major group is the series that specializes in Saltwater. It is made up of the MS 200SS, MS 215 SS, MS 230 SS, MS 235 SS, MS 245 SS, MS 255 SS, MS 280 SS, X – 2 SS, X-15 SS, and lastly the X – 30 SS. They range from twenty to twenty-eight feet, with the seating option of 11 – 18 individuals. These are not the big style of the CSX Series yachts, but offer the same amount of power for coastal enjoyment.
Whatever the desire, MasterCraft boats are more than able to meet those needs. With the huge selection of ski boats offered, MasterCraft has a stronghold on the market like none of the other competitors.
