Ski Boat Accessories - Maximizing Fun!
By Lisa Renee Sherman

Women are teased unsympathetically for their desire for shopping. Accessories can literally be the down fall for many women. Purses, shoes, clutch bags, bracelets, rings, ear-rings…the list can go on for miles. Many men feel that they have seen their paychecks fly out the window on the way to the mall. Regardless to how much women are teased, there is nothing that compares to a man and his need to accessorize his boat. Whereas stilettos are considered ultra feminine, boat accessories are all manly.

Companies market accessories as “essentials” for safety, or enjoyment. Let’s face it though, they are COOL! Admittedly, some accessories do offer safety, but without a doubt it is a very “cool” form of safety. There are hundreds of accessories out there for the average ski boat.

Currently one of the most added accessories to ski boats is the wake tower. Companies report that this one single accessory has had the most rapid growth in demand. There are several styles offered, and they are obtainable from the factory direct or from aftermarket companies.

The wake tower itself also has accessories that enhance its productivity and appeal. There are racks that attach to the wake tower that sound speakers and lights are able to adhere to. This is helpful in the fact that these items are then not on the floor of the boat. An add-on accessory that is catching momentum is the Bimini Top. It is basically a fabricated awning that attaches to the tower to offer shading from the sun.

Another popular accessory is a swim platform. This feature is helpful for families with young swimmers as well as advanced skiers and wakeboarders. The platform enables individuals to sit down and slide slowly into the water, verses jumping in. Along this same thought, the platform also makes exiting the water much easier.

The two main accessories that do serve an importance safety role are a ladder, and a rear view mirror. It is obvious benefit of a ladder speaks for itself. The rear view mirror tends to be an underestimated addition. The communication between the driver and the skier/wakeboarder is vital. Without a rear view mirror most of that communication depends on a third party individual. With the rear view mirror the communication between the driver and skier/wakeboarder is direct.

Of course there are tons of accessories out there for any reason that someone could want them. There are adjustable flag holders, mirrors (to place anywhere to insure capture of all the action), cup holders, seat covers, boat covers, and windshield decals. Those are just items for the actual boat. There are then tubes, various other pull behinds, customized life jackets and LED lights that change with the beat of the music.

The ski boat of today virtually is the ultimate fun machine. It doesn’t matter what an individual’s vice is, the dream ski boat with the options of extreme ski boat accessories are obtainable for all. Of course, it all depends on money!
